OLD TIFFANY BAKE SHOP EST. 1915 A step back in time located just ten minutes from Lake Michigan and the famous Silver Lake sand dunes, and three minutes from the Hart/Montague bike trail. Say Hello to Big Chuck!
The next time you come to Mears stop by The Golden Inn and say hello to Big Chuck. In the spirit of our Towns founder, Lumber Baron Charles Mears, we are proud to add to our menu The Chuck Burgers. We now offer this huge one pound burger, "The Big Chuck". It has two kinds of cheese, Canadisn bacon, Ham, mushrooms, onions, peppers, pickles, lettuce, tomato and that's not all! You can also try a "Double Chuck", a huge double burger with the Goldens Inn's secret sauce. But that's not all. maybe you want a "Chili Chuck". And for those who want to have it all, "Chuck Bites", a sampler of all of our Chuck Burgers! See you at the Inn.
Winter in Mears
We would like to thank all of our friends, customers and family for their support during these past months. What a whirlwind it has been! It is hard to believe that it was one year ago that we started this project (check photo section for before pictures). Last January we began to rebuild Mears. The first Summer was very sucessful. The Bakery and Cake House opened in the Spring. In June we opened the Golden Inn to rave reviews. The Market, Ice Cream Shop, Oceana Gift Shop and Insurance Offices opened in early July.
We hosted a fall festival in Mears complete with Fresh Cider, Hay Rides and a very Haunted House. Santa made his first visit to Mears in December. Children both young and old came to visit Santa in his animated workshop, with snow falling inside!
We have great plans for 2008. The Golden Inn will be open seven nights a week in spring. We are excited to open our new pizza cafe, Mangia e Statti Zitto (Italian, meaning shut up and eat!). We will keep you up to date on "Whats happening in Mears!"

Mears Spirit Trophy Makes Debut!
This past Fall we were proud to introduce the Mears Spirit Trophy. This trophy honors the most spirited school in our area. Each year the Cheerleaders from both Shelby and Hart High Schools represent their schools in this competition. The days events include a Tug of War and a Pie Eating contest. This year the Hart Pirates edged out the Shelby Pirates and took the Trophy home. See you both next Fall!
